Adding non-administrator as administrator to a project...

Post by ccates »

I had a user 'fooman' who is, by default, a manager.

For one project, I added fooman as an administrator to that project. As a result of this, fooman gets an "Access Denied" when he clicks on his Manage tab.

Deleting fooman from the project and re-adding him as a manager, tho, works fine and fixes the problem.

It seems, therefore, to be illegal to add a user to a project with a higher access level than their 'default'. Is this true? If so, shouldn't it generate an error when this invalid action is attempted?

Thanks!

It is valid to add a user to a project with an access level that is higher than his global access level. However, it is not valid to add a user as an administrator for a specific project. Administrator access level should only be used for the user's default access level, and in this case, the user will be an Administrator for the whole system, not just for a couple of projects.

Hi,
i have the 1.0.0 rc1 in test in my cie. I have this problem: i log as manager an go to my "manage project" tab. There, i can create a new account to my projet, and select, in the dropdown list, the lvl acess administrator. When i connect with that administrator user i cannot go to "Manage tab" (that is ok). Is there a way to prevent Manager to select "Administrator" in the drop-down list if that's a forbidden action?

[edit]
the new user have the "administrator" in the top left corner when connecting

Thanks!

Dominique
