Print summary bugs to Word/Excel cannot be seen in IE 6.0

Post by dgrieve »

Mantis 1.0.1

-Using Explorer 6.0 (works fine with Firefox) I open my project.
-Click on Summary which displays bugs.
-I click on Word/Excel icon and I get a pop up saying:

Do you want to save or open this file with the details as:

"Name: _word.doc
Type: Microsoft Word Documment
From: xx.xx.xx.xx" (replace this with IP address)

Click open and I get another pop up in Word now and not in the same IE window stating:

"The file could not be found. Try one of the following:
*Check the spelling of the name of the document.
*Try a different file name."

I am hoping to see the word/excel doc in the IE window. Am I missing a setup here for default file name? If I choose Save instead of open I can save the document and then open it.

Any tips?

Next to Word and Excel icons you will find an IE icon, these IE icons are supposed to open the Word or Excel in the current window.

I seem to be having the same problem. The two IE icons open the excel and word files in the IE or Firefox windows. The Word icon opens up the generated file in Word. However, the Excel icon doesn't open up the generated file in Excel when you try and open it from IE. It works for Firefox.

I get an error in Excel saying:
'C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\WTUR4TEN\_excel[1].xls' could not be found. Check the spelling of the file name, and verify that the file location is correct.

If you are trying to open the file from your list of most recently used files on the File menu, make sure that the file has not been renamed, moved or deleted.
Is there any way to view this file in Excel from the link in IE like the way it works in Firefox?

Thanks!
