mantis 1.0.6 How to get custom fields working

hello,

I searched the forum but could not find an answer to this.
I added a custom field with values Red|White|Blue, default is Red, and regular expression Red|White|Blue

min 5 and max 10 in Mantis 1.0.6

I get the field in the project, but not with the values Red White and Blue in the dropdown. The dropdown just says [all] and [none] and nothing more.

When I want to change the fieldvalue for an issue from the default Red, to White for example, I get an error 1303.

How do i get this working?
is there anywhere a screenshot or so of how to fill in the correct values for a simple example?
