no user manual

I am sure that maxone wanted something more clear than this for example: http://www.mantisbt.org/manual/manual.p ... ofiles.php

Again, Mantis could only benefit from a real User Manual. I am completely new to Mantis (more precisely, i am new to ANY bugtracking software but i have some experience with php though) and i am spending hours to figure out how something works or where it is used and how - like Global Profiles for example - information on simple things for new Mantis users simply does not exist.

Please, correct me if i am wrong, i would gladly apologize for this post and read that kind of manual if it existed.

edit:
also, see this, i'm not the only one who feels this way: http://www.mantisbt.org/forums/viewtopi ... a343383dec

edit no. 2: something like this (a bit deeper and more detailed) would be nice: http://www.suitable.com/docs/mantisbt.html

Hi,

One of my project is to write a plugin that generates the user manual accorded to the Mantis configuration. The manual will be placed in the wiki part (so it will be easily modifiable by any user).

Take a look here:

http://bugtracker.morinie.fr/mantis/dok ... is%3Astart

I'm starting to write the entire manual. Feel free to contribute.

Mantis: 1.1.0, 1.1.0a2
PHP: 5.0.4
SQL: MySQL 5.0.19

Hi deboutv,
it looks promising, that's the kind of thing new user would expect.

Once i personally get more friendly with using Mantis features i would, of course, like to contribute, at this moment i am still a bit lost in all of its functionalities which is the main reason i posted in this topic.
