SQL error installing 1.0.0a1

I have uploaded the files to my server, and have created the mysql database, but when I copy the contents of db_generate.sql and past it in the phpMyAdmin "Run SQL queryies on database" input area, I receive the following error message:

MySQL said:
#1064 - You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'DEFAULT CHARSET=latin1' at line 33

Anyone have any ideas?
