What are the differences between developer and updater access?

The main differences between the developer and the updater is that the updater can:

- Handle issues (issues can be assigned to developers).
- View private issues
- View private news
- and other stuff.

I'd suggest you open config_defaults_inc.php and search for developer, this will give you an indication of the thresholds that are set to developer and above. Since updater is less than developer, hence, updater won't have such access.
