configuring custom fields in more details

When creating a custom field, one can specify if it should be displayed when reporting a new issue, when updating an issue, when resolving an issue and when closing an issue. One can also configure, if the field must be filled (mandatory) or not.

I do have a lot of custom status in my Mantis installation. I would like to configure for each custom field whether it is displayed and mandatory at each status transition, e.g. that it is displayed when changing from state A to B and from state C to D, but not from B to C.

Is a feature like this planned? This would be great!

And are there any plans to add a "help text" for custom fields? I imagine sth like a tool-tip, when the mouse pointer is pointed at a custom field, e.g. at the reporting issue page.

Seems there is no high priority for it ...
