Mantis 1.0.0rc4 - email customisation

I have noticed that the alignment of the tables in emails that Mantis sends are only correct if you used fixed pitch font. At the company I work for the default font for displaying plain text is Arial.

Can someone advise how to modify the code to send emails as html with a fixed pitch font such as courier new to get round this problem?
