Hi venkat:

Basically the email system works by sending emails on certain 'actions'. Your developers need to set up their Mantis account and then go in to 'my account' then 'preferences'.

There, they have tick boxes to say that they want to receive an email when a new bug is entered and so on.

When one of these actions occurs, the system goes through everyone associated with the project and checks their email preferences. From there, the emails are sent.

Also note that these preferences are used alongside project settings. Select a project in your dropdown (or 'all projects' if you want to set them all the same) then select 'manage', 'manage configuration' then 'email notifications'. From there, as a project manager you can set even more values for when emails are sent.

Basically when an action occurs, Mantis looks at the project settings. If it determines that an email should be sent, it then looks at each user to determine whether or not they should be sent that email.

There's no real concept of 'hey, email these people about this bug'. The system emails people when they need to be emailed.

Regarding reports: I'm thinking you're after the 'summary' link at the top of the page, but surely you've already looked at that? The three sub pages from that are really the only reports that are available 'out of the box'...

Lincoln.
