mantis issues

hi all,

can anyone tell me what is that "sticky issues" for in the view issues screen.

2. when i select the from to dates to display the issues its not working its still showing all the issues, i selected the from date and to date and clicked the apply filter button it didnt work, is there anything that i shld do for getting issues between dates.
