Mantis for requirements management

Hi all,

Has anyone tried using Mantis to manage their system requirements? Storing them in Mantis would be more useful than a text document to be able to track their history, track change requests, and link bugs with requirements.

Maybe a wiki is better for that. Use a wiki with comments capability too. Then you can see who requested what. Every so often, an authorized user can modify the specification to include the comments as appropriate.

Or, allow a free-for-all type editing.

Just a thought.

It is planned to integrate Wikis with Mantis. The idea is to provide out-of-the-box integration with DokuWiki, but allow Mantis users to implement integrations with other Wikis. For more details see: (#7075)

That's fantastic to hear. Can I request that the Wiki language be similar to mediawiki's formatting? I've seen a lot of different wiki formats, and mediawiki's seems to be the best and easiest to use.

If it already is, then YAY, thanks, and looking forward to 1.1.

The Wiki integration in Mantis is designed so that there is a generic layer for integration with a Wiki and then there is drivers for specific wikis. Mantis 1.1 will have the driver for DokuWiki, the community is welcome to contribute other drivers. Such drivers may be integrated into future versions.
