Plugins

Post by albpb2 »

Hi!
I'm starting to use Mantis BT and i would like to know if there are available plugins for statistics, graphs and UI customization for Mantis BT 1.2 (I've already installed those listed in the "Manage Plugins" page).
Thank you!

Have a look at http://git.mantisforge.org
Also check http://www.mantisbt.org/bugs
If you select the projects from the project selection dropdown you will see some plugins

Ahhh! The git site you refer to is terrific - I'm sure that I'll be able to find a few plugins to my liking there that I can use for my zoekmachine optimalisatie site.

Thanks for posting it!

Hi,

I've recently released first public version of my MantisStats Plugin. You may want to give it a try: https://www.mantisstats.org

Plugin is free for use, but I'm not sure I'm ready to make it open source. Also, there is proprietary charting component in it, which I've purchased for this plugin (but purchase doesn't permit me to make it open-source). Do you think it may prevent people from using it? Using the opportunity, may you please comment on the plugin? What should I improve? Lot's of questions....

I am not a license specialist and not a lawyer.
You should ensure that you are allowed to deliver the charting component.

IMO a disadvantage:
No one will be able to sent you patches with bugfixes or feature enhancements as you don't allow to modify the source.

I am testing this plugin and tried to register on your mantis site. Registering worked but I did not receive the activation mail :(

So far it is looking good :D but I am missing 2 basic functions:
1. Option to select by period
2. Option to export

I also notice that the 2 tables are not being created but that does not generate an error message till now.
Are they meant for future functionality?

If you place this under Summary, then it may be hard to get. It takes quite long, in our environment, to reach that page.
Perhaps an option to install it within another menu?

@cas

Thank you for your comments! Let me go one-by-one:

- Activation email. I've discovered that I didn't setup reverse DNS records for the server. This is why your server rejected activation email. I've now forwarded it to you from my Yahoo account. Hopefully I can add reverse DNS record quickly.

- Option to select timeframes. You are right, so far it is only in one report under the Trends. Will now create ticket on your behalf on this. Will then add this to all reports one-by-one.
- Option to export. Will create ticket on your behalf. What do you think, what formats are good to have? Should it be same [ CSV Export | Excel Export | XML Export ]?

- Two tables. Actually they need to be created for managing settings for charts (rendering options: Only Flash, Only HTML5, Flash with fail-over to HTML5, no rendering) and for tables paging (number of rows in tables). There are a) defaults, b) Mantis Admin can set his/her 'recommended settings' on 'Manage plugin' page, and c) users may have their own settings too. Can it be that there were no sufficient DB permissions to create tables? May you please check? I will also create another Mantis ticket to ensure that if tables are not created during the plugin install then some kind of error message is displayed.

- Location of MantisStats in menus/sub-menus. Let me experiment/think on with different locations... I'll be back.

Many thanks for your valuable comments! I'll try to address them quickly.

@Aavagyan

I received the link an used it too, no problem there.

As for the export, i would stick with these 3, that should do for now.
Perhaps a standard print/pdf option could be made also.

I have checked on the tables once again and they are there. I must have missed something or my view was not properly updated. :(

As far as the location, it could also be in the topmenu.
