MantisBT version 2.26.0 install issue msqlnd required

Post by danleff »

Good afternoon. I was referred her my my isp provider, as a new installation of MantisBT 2.26.0 through Softaculous/CPanel on there site resulted in the following error;

APPLICATION ERROR #400

Database connection failed. Error received from database was #0: .
Please use the "Back" button in your web browser to return to the previous page. There you can correct whatever problems were identified in this error or select another action. You can also click an option from the menu bar to go directly to a new section.
Previous non-fatal errors occurred. Page contents follow.

MySQL Native Driver (msqlnd) required

I had a previous version on my website, but that upgrade to 2.26.0 failed. I attempted to do a clean installation and received the above error. So the previous release worked.

My ISP responded with the following;

Hello,

Thank you for your patience on this.

The extension that needed to be enabled is nd_mysqli under Select PHP version, however, this is not compatible with mysqli

I have done this, however, the other applications, such as wordPress sites are not compatible with this, and have stopped working. I have since reverted this.

It seems it might be a configuration issue during the installation, or a problem of compatibility with the version installed.

I will recommend you to check with mantisbt support or forums, to review the requirements and attempt to reinstall.

If you have additional questions or issues, let us know.

Any assistance in resolving this issue is greatly appreciated. The PHP version is currently 8.0.

Which MantisBT version did you use before?
What's the value of $g_db_type in config/config_inc.php?
Please use Search before posting and read the Manual

I had to delete the previous version. as Softaculous complained that I already had an installation.

$g_db_type = 'mysqli';

off the top of my head, I thing the old version was 2.25.

Thanks for your quick response.

Any further thoughts on this issue? If this indeed is an issue with the specific isp's setup, I will just install MantisBT on my local machine.

Seems that this ISP is not that much insterested in MantisBT.
I checked their MantisBT page, found a screenshot from a MantisBT 2011 version.
Tried also to launch their MantisBT demo, but all I got was an error message.

So yes, if this is an option for you, a local install might be better.

Thank you very much for your reply. Apparently, the ISP states that needing the module outlined in this post also conflicts with Wordpress. If I enable the module, then Wordpress will no longer work. I will proceed with a local installation, since I need Wordpress for my web page.

Again, thanks for the feedback. If there are no other suggestions, please mark this as closed.
