I'm using mantis 1.1.0a4, each time I try to login I got this error:
Your account may be disabled or blocked or the username/password you entered is incorrect.
so I follow the [ Lost your password? ] procedure, I receive a eMail message from mantis server, I reset my password and during this session I'm able to work.
When I logout and I try to login the I got again the above error and I have to repeat the reset password procedure.
What happens ?
anybody can help ?

Re: Account disable or blocked, invalid username/password
Hello All,
I got the same issue - installed Mantis 1.1.1 or 1.1.2 on a standard Ubuntu Linux box.
1) I can login as administrator/root - and also change the password for "administrator".
2) When I now create a new user, the mail is sent to the correct account.
3) Then I click the link in the mail and set a new password for this user. No error messages. The entry for the password in the DB is changed.
4) The login with exactly this password now fails with the message "Your account may be disabled or blocked or the username/password you entered is incorrect."
I tested the following:
- change the MD5 encryption to CRYPT
- different user roles
- delete the password from the Database and login with an empty password.
I cannot see any logfile entries for the failed login - nor do I see any error message on the "surface".
Any hints?
I assume that this fails at a very early level - but as I have no idea of PHP, I cannot debug for myself.
Thanks!
Kai
[edit]: When I try to change to PLAIN and enter the password in the DB, I can also not login. Issue in Apache2 / PHP?

Re: Account disable or blocked, invalid username/password
Hello All,
when I do the same on my XAMPP in W2K with Mantis 1.1.1 everything works fine.
Now the question: Why?
The only difference is that I used the mySQL Root user now (as this DB currently doesn't know any users...).
Do I need root access to the DB?
Or is there something else I need to obey?
Thanks for any help!

Re: Account disable or blocked, invalid username/password
OK, now I'm completly stuck.
I have changed the owner to the www group running apache. I have set the access rights to 777 for all files.
I have compared the httpd.conf from my W2K with the linux system (changed some values) and the same for the PHP.ini.
So far no change in behaviour.
As it is failing very early (from my persepctive before even asking the DB) there should be either an error messsage or (better) a simple solution.
Is there anyone who has an helpful idea?
Thanks!
Kai

Re: Account disable or blocked, invalid username/password
Hello All,
issue does not get better. Behaviour seems to be connected to something out of my control?
I set up a completly new machine (WinXP with the latest XAMPP and Mantis 1.1.2). Everything worked fine.
Added some test user - no problem with logging in.
Added some more users. Today I got the report that logging in is not possible due to "Your account may be disabled or blocked or the username/password you entered is incorrect."
What is this for a cr*** message? Where can it come from? Any help from the developers eventually?
Thanks
