I use Mantis 1.1.0.a4 now for a few days. My biggest problem is:
Often I want to have more information from the reporter. What is the way in Mantis to ask for that information?
I can 't assign a reporter to a feedback ask. Is that not possible?
How do other people that?
Thank you for help

While in the issue you should be able to change the status to Feedback.
Take a look at Manage => Manage Configuration => Workflow Transitions in order to fine-tune who can do this.

Thank for answer, I tryed it, but I don 't see how to do it.
When I view an Issue and click on the button Change Status To: and in the ComboBox I have status feedback.
And then in the next screen, by Assigned To I want to select the reporter, but I only see Developers and higher.
Regards,
Gerrit.

I doubt that you would wish to assign the issue to the reporter. This field is for assigning the issue to someone to handle (fix the bug, etc.).
However, the user who reported the issue should receive an email when the status is changed to feedback. Check that this is correctly configured under the Email Notifications. If you don't get a response from the reporter after a reasonable time, you can also send a reminder.
Have a good day,
Maurice
leblancma, why not assign the bug report to the reporter when feedback is needed? That's exactly what we did on one project I worked on. The bug report was always assigned to the person responsible for the next stage of work, whether it was the engineer who had to fix the bug or the reporter who had to supply more info or regress the bug. We all started the day by searching for "my bugs". Any bug assigned to me would show up. These would include regressions and (rarely :-) bugs needing clarification.

Ok, I thinks this is going to work.leblancma wrote:However, the user who reported the issue should receive an email when the status is changed to feedback. Thanks.
Is that possible in Mantis? And how?mroeder wrote:leblancma, why not assign the bug report to the reporter when feedback is needed? That's exactly what we did on one project I worked on. You would need to adjust the default configuration under Workflow Transitions to allow reporters to assign the issue back to the person who should handle it. Of course, we all use Mantis in a slightly different way, and no one way is better than another. It depends on many factors, and it seems to me that this thread is drifting a bit off-topic for the Help forum and would be better pursued in General Discussion.

Ok, I try that, but I don 't see why this is not for this forum. I ask how I can do it (= help me) and not why (discus it)?leblancma wrote:You would need to adjust the default configuration under Workflow Transitions to allow reporters to assign the issue back to the person who should handle it.
