0004718: Not possible to select blank fields in filter

Currently seeing this issue in Mantis 1.0.6

We are trying to filter by the Global Profiles, but when ever we want to include blank, it flips to the [any] filter.

Is there a quick workaround to this? Using Custom fields is painful because every time an update is made in triage, those fields reset (ug).
