Filter by non-blank custom fields

I have a custom field that is a string. Is there a way to use the filter such that I only see bugs were user have entered data in this field (non-blank)? If I use [any] in the filter it gives me everything (blank and non-blank) which is not how I would have expected [any] to work for a string field.

I believe that there is a feature request already posted for this.

In the filters, '[any]' really means don't filter on this field.
