"View Issues" links going to Update rather than Vi

The standard behavior in mantis for clicking on a link to a bug from the "View Issues" page is to open the specific View Issue page for the bug clicked on. Is there a way to make it so that clicking on a link to a bug in the View Issues page will go to the Advanced Update page instead? And is there a way to do this on a per-user basis? (so it only happens for users who want it to happen).

There is a user preference ("Advanced View") that does this. It is under "My Account -> Preferences".
