Projects, Sub-projects and product versions

It looks as though sub-projects don't inherit product versions from their parent project which is eactly what i need :(

I have a situation where i have created a sub-projects for a clients for feedback and want to be able to specify the product version for which the problem exists in.

Does anyone know how i could achieve this without duplicating the product versions for each sub-project?

Are there plans to include a feature where a sub-project can choose which settings to inherit from its parent project? ie. In Project Management section, have an option where we can decide to inherit product versions from parent project, or categories for that matter, or to use the settings specified for this sub-project. Perhaps a checkbox "Inherit from parent project" for product versions, categories, etc... would do the trick?
