Fatal error after upgrading to version 1.1.4

Serious problem with Mantis 1.1.4, php 5.2.5, mysql 5.0.67

I have been running mantis 1.1.2 with php 5.2.5, and mysql 5.0.67 successfully since Oct. 01st 2008. Prior to Oct.1st, I was running mantis 1.1.2 with php 5.2.0, and mysql 5.0.27 since June 2008.

Today i upgraded mantis to version 1.1.4, and all hell broke loose...LOL. I got the following error message:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function mysql_connect() in C:\Inetpub\mantis-1.1.4\core\adodb\drivers\adodb-mysql.inc.php on line 364

I had to downgrade my php version back to 5.2.0 in order for mantis 1.1.4 to work.
