Integrate dokuwiki with mantis 1.2a3

Mantis 1.2a3, dokuwiki 2009-02-14

Trying to enable the wiki integration with dokuwiki. I followed the instructions on the mantis wiki but cannot get authentication to work. Up to the part that says that mantis >1.1 configuration is already present. When linking to the wiki from mantis, all I get is a blank page. if I disable the 'mantis' authentication in dokuwiki config, the wiki works, but will not let me edit anything.

So it seems the authentication is not working.

I can see there is a new model for integrating with the wiki, via plugins perhaps? But I cannot find any reference to getting that working with 1.2a3. Is there some instruction on getting it work? Or a plugin that can be installed?
