desirable anonymous report functionality unavailable

Post by roblindman »

I recently switched over to Mantis BT.

I would like to use it for our internal team to do tracking and issue correction.

One thing that would be enormously beneficial for our end users would be the ability to send reports without having to sign up for the system, which would only confuse the normal humans.

There is a page on the mantis site describing this functionality at: http://www.mantisbt.org/manual/manual.m ... eports.php

But you broke it. There are numerous locations on this message board where people have been trying to locate this. I went to sourceforge and googled around trying to find it, because since it exists, I shouldn't have to write one.

It would be tremendous if someone would either correct this, so the files are available, or delete the page, to stop sending messages of false hope and futility.

I've found several 'alternatives' and all of them have a downside... Like requiring a mono http server... Or a REST API... All of which are overkill in light of what is already mentioned as having existed but suffering from a broken link.

AFAIC this ought to be just a basic form that can post into the database and doesn't need to have a huge set of features.

It's likely that someone here has the file in an archive or could bust out on a replacement.

Hope this happens.

What you are looking for is almost 10 years old and even if found will probably be completely broken against the latest code base. There is AnonyMantis which attempts to achieve what you are after:
