Upgrading the version makes one lose the customized fields/profiles/whatever, or do they persist? I'm guessing the latter but, we never know.
I ask because we've got version 1.1.6, and I'm thinking of upgrading to version 1.2 (when it's released as stable). I also ask because I'm developing a plugin of sorts for our internal needs, that will make use of customized fields previously defined by the admin. I'd like to make something for version 1.1.6 (the one we use now) but that would be compatible with version 1.2 as a plugin.
Another question: is there some guide on how to make plugins for versions 1.1.x?
