All for submissions locks up mantis

I just installed mantis "mantisbt-1.2.0rc1" on my Fedora server running php 5.2.9 Apache 2 Mysql 5.0.84

Php.ini has 148 MB to memory.

I am able to login as administrator. When I create a user it hangs saying the page is loading. Just sites there. If I restart the browser Mantis is still hung. I have to restart the
httpd service.
Same thing happens when I create a project.

Any ideas?
