User access (reporter, developer etc.) defined per project

Post by amachado »

I'd like to change my Mantis installation (PHP pages, MySQL tables) so I can define user type/access independently for each project; for example, some people need to be set as reporter for one project, but developer for other project. Obviously, administrators are always administrators (for all projects). I'd like to know which PHP pages I should change and which database tables I'll need to edit/create.

Thanks a lot.

Hi Alexandre,

Forgive me if I misunderstand you, but I think you don't have to change anything. On the project management page you can add users and assign them an access level for that project. The access level you assign when adding a user to a project overrides his default access level. So if you have a manager that you add to a project as a reporter, he won't be able to manage that particular project.

Greetings,

Thank you for your prompt reply.

No, you didn't misunderstand me. That's exactly what I need to do. I've recently installed Mantis (yesterday) and I still had no chance to see all features. When I was going back home yesterday night, I'd thought about it and asked for, but today I've already seen that it's just like you said. Thank you and congratulations to Mantis staff.
