Taking a long time to load any pages in fresh 1.1.8

Hi there,

I am trying to setup a fresh install of 1.1.8 on XAMPP 1.7.2 but it is taking a very very long time to load any pages (even the installation page), all other installations on the same stack work fine and I have tried restarting the stack as well.

Any suggestions?

XAMPP 1.7.2 use PHP5.3. Try downgrade php to 5.2.x

I did try PHP 5.2.11 and there no longer seems to be the issue, I wonder what is the cause however. As you probably know PHP 5.2* isn't compatible with Apache 2.2x.

I for myself do not know this. Please send a link, where you found that confirmed (!) information. I think that it is simply wrong. And if it is wrong, you should correct that "info".
