I'm agree with that. The product version is an issue core information. So it should be in the simple view.

Well, I guess the optimal solution to the problem is to be able to configure exactly what fields one would like to have in the simple view. I guess others want other fields in simple and maybe remove a few of the default ones.

Maybe the possibility (if it is not already there) to remeve a field all together in both views would be good also.

True, maybe it should even be possible to make it mandatory?

This was a bug, the product version was added in the simple submit page but not the simple view and simple update. Now it is added to these.

As for configuring what is mandatory and what fields are shown in each view, this will be part of the next major version when we use templates in Mantis.
