Summary0007804: Add Customer Contact List...
Description

1) When reporting an issue, it would be nice to have a combo box with a list of customers. This will allow us to track the issue nicely to the customer when they have an issue.

2) When viewing the issue, it would be nice to have a link to the customer in the issue. So we could go to the customer contact information.

3) Have a web page to add customers with their contact information.
a. In the customer contact, have a way to link the contact to a set list of projects. That way, not all the customers will be listed in the combo box when creating an issue.

4) Have a web page to view all customers and what projects they are assigned to.

This is something I'm also interested in. In addition, I would like a combo box with lists of other actors.

  • Customers and pages with their additional information is one use case.

  • The person that would fix the issue is another use case. If you are dealing with a bunch of contractors and contract houses, it would be nice to have a central location with all of their information.

  • The Product is another use case. Especially with old products or if you are supporting products that are not yours, there is loads of information that would be nice to keep in a central location.

Here is an idea:

There are two places this could be.
1) The original idea of having a web pages manage Customer/Contractor information.

Or

2) This could be a subset of the User Accounts. This would mean that each contact would have their own mantis account, which I'm not sure is a good idea. But, this would mean that if your Mantis is exposed to the internet, the customer or contractor can access the issues on their own. Personally, I would prefer to keep it separate for security reasons. But this idea is worth mentioning.

If we do not make it a subset of mantis user accounts, let us at least have the ability to link a mantis account to the contact.
