We should upgrade but stick with the free version.

Look into this and reached a conclusion that upgrading to V5.0 adds very little value to mantisbt.
In addition to the opinion listed here: https://www.enableds.com/font-awesome-5-worth-upgrading/ - getting Ace theme to work with the new version of fontawesome is non-trivial undertaken.

To keep mantisbt at the most recent version prior to v5.0 - I upgraded to version 4.7.0
