Summary | 0004615: Issues can have two attachments with the same display name
Description | Now you can upload an issue twice with the same display name. This is probably due to uniqueness being checked on the physical filename which no longer corresponds to the display name. For an example see 0004024, if it is cleaned up, you can see the problem in the history. 0004024-bug_view_xml.php.gz [^] (1,307 bytes) 07-24-04 08:16 [Delete]

I'm not sure that this is a feature or a bug. The submit date and time does differentiate them. It is an advantage for non-developers who may submit several patches with the same name, but cannot delete old attachments. |

I think it is common practice not to allow two files with the same name in the same location, otherwise it gets confusing. I personally don't mind it that much, but I think users may (will) get confused. Also referencing these attachments in the notes will be more of a problem since the author has to specify the timestamp, rather than attach2 / attach3 / ...etc. |

I will check and reject a duplicate filename for the same bug. |
